Outstanding Search Prevents Drugs Entering Prison |
A diligent search by an officer at Central Park Custody has been recognised after preventing suspected drugs from entering the prison system. The incident involved a detainee who had attended the front desk at Central Park Custody following a recall to prison. During a statutory search, Police Constable Chadwick, with observations from Custody Sergeant Von Vadkerthy, noticed unusual behaviour involving the detainee’s footwear. The detainee had removed the insoles from his trainers and carefully hollowed out the soles before replacing the insoles on top. A thorough examination revealed four blocks of what is believed to be cannabis resin concealed within the trainers. Thanks to the officer’s attention to detail and professionalism, the suspected drugs were discovered before the detainee was transferred to prison. The search has been praised as an excellent example of vigilance and dedication, highlighting the important role custody staff play in preventing contraband from entering secure establishments. Well done to Police Constable Chadwick for demonstrating exceptional diligence and carrying out a search that made a significant difference.
Recognition: The excellent work was highlighted by Police Sergeant Gavin Johnson, who commended the search and requested that thanks be passed on to Police Constable Chadwick for a job well done. | ||
